More Wong is coming MCU fans’ way soon, but his look may be somewhat updated.
With more merchandises coming in for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, a piece of new promotional art was posted on Twitter that revealed not only the main characters for the upcoming film but also the newest outfit for Wong.
In the first promo art, we saw Scarlet Witch’s updated costume from the Wandavision series but it looks like she is not the only one with a new look since Benedict Wong’s character also has a new outfit for the second sequel.
New World, New Wong
According to comingsoon.net, the Twitter user who goes by “Doctor Strange 2 updates” posted images of the promo art which gave a clear view of Wong’s costume. It is different compared to the outfit he wore in the first film: instead of the black and crimson feature, the costume now has three bright colors involved along with new additional features such as the waist belt and hand wraps.
The promo art on Twitter not only shows a glimpse of Wong but also three other characters: Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and fan-favorite Marvel character Miss America (Xochitl Gomez). It’s been reported that the three images shown of the four character in a main team could possibly be the next set of merch to be released for the film, since it showcases different art pieces with black and white backgrounds.
The Doctor Strange sequel will be full of surprises, especially with Wong looking like a warrior, but there are other things to consider about the film. Not only does it involve the Multiverse, but it also introduces a new character to the MCU: America Chavez. Because there are few details on the kind of role Gomez will have alongside the Sorcerer Supreme, fans going to have to wait and see what she gets up to. What’s most important for now is seeing Doctor Strange and Wanda, aka Scarlet Witch, working together to face whatever is coming their way.
As the sequel is tied to the events of Loki, Wandavision, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, the film will be sure to draw the interest of many fans. Add to the fact that it is the first horror film in the MCU, and hopefully there will be enough twists to thrill and jump scares to spook fans. Even more exciting is the fact that actors Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, and Rachel McAdams are making a big come back as they reprise their roles as Karl Mordo, Wong, and Dr. Christine Palmer. The film being directed by Spider-Man director Sam Raimi and produced by Marvel’s president, Kevin Feige.
