GKIDS, the acclaimed producer and distributor of animation for adult and family audiences has acquired the North American distribution rights for Nadi: The Secret of Blue Water, the 1990 animated series directed by acclaimed director Hideaki ANNO. ANNO is the renowned creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion, which GKIDS released onto home entertainment platforms last year. With new and modern films like Belle doing very well at the box office in addition to critical acclaim, classic restorations, and reintroductions to lesser-known classic titles like Panda! Go Panda!, not to mention Studio Ghibli Fest, GKIDS knows great content. GKIDS is not only providing North America access to the some of best anime content available, they are making it approachable and digestible for a wider audience by providing 4K restoration and dubbed versions to appeal to wider audiences. These small, but impactful acts, will help grow and widen the demographics of anime fans.

Fans of, and future fans of, Nadia: The Secret of the Blue Water should be excited about GKIDS 4K restoration. It will likely be a truly stunning masterpiece that brings new eyes to the early works of the legendary Hideaki ANNO. Fans will get to see more of his work, and realize his genius is not limited to a single title. Plus, it is always a good thing to add a strong female protagonist, especially one with darker skin.
GKIDS has been basically knocking out of the park with each new project. Synopsis:
