Marvel dropped a brand new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featurette ahead of the film’s premiere date.
The time is almost here! The first major Marvel Studios film of the year is only one week away. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness releases globally on May 6, 2022, exclusively in theaters. After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the boundaries of the multiverse are broken. Doctor Strange needs help, and for some unbelievable reason Wong sin’t enough, so Strange enlists the help of the most powerful Avenger and the only other to have experience with the multiverse, Wana Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch. In celebration of her return, Marvel has dropped a new featurette celebrating her return.

The featurette highlights the Scarlet Witch’s role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It also confirms that we will see multiple versions of Wanda and the Scarlet Witch. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Wanda herself Elizabeth Olsen, Doctor Strange Benedict Cumberbatch, and Director of the film Sam Raimi all share some insight on the film and Wanda journey in it. Raimi discuesses the multiple variants in the film and how it allows the characters to see different aspects of themselves, as well as constants, across the multiverse. The start of the featurette featuring Vision’s famous line about grief was also a really nice touch.
From all the promotional footage, it very much looks like Wanda is actually there to help Doctor Strange. However, there are multiple versions of each character and there are likely some to be bad. Also, if Wanda does find her children, would there actually be anything or anyone to keep her from them. On more personal notes, Strange will have to deal with Christine Palmer marrying another person, not longer being the Sorcerer Supreme, and Mordo and the Illuminati. The Illuminati being confirmed is already more taking the contents of this film to a new level. That’s not even inculding the content revealed at CinemaCon.
