We are about four months away from DC’s anticipated film Black Adam and over the past few years, fans have gotten a few first looks like concept art and behind-the-scenes images from Dwayne Johnson himself.

Now, Funko has revealed some new POPs that will be hitting the market soon. This time, we are getting a detailed look at DC’s superhero team the Justice Society of America (JSA).

In the comics, the team consists of Doctor Fate, Hourman, the Spectre, the Sandman, the Atom, the Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkman. Some notable heroes who were also included in this epic team were Power Girl, Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, and the titular character of DC’s 2022 film, Black Adam.

Some of the Black Adam Funko Pop! Collection

Hawk Man

First from the Black Adam Funko Pop! Collection, we have a more detailed look at Hawkman. He’s a winged vigilante who uses a flight harness that is made of Nth metal and a mace. He first appeared in Flash Comics #1 in 1940. He’s had different versions of the character since he was introduced but his secret identity is Carter Hall, an archeologist who reincarnates as the ancient Egyptian prince Khufu.

He had some love interests but one of the most notable ones was Hawkgirl, who was involved with many teams such as Birds of Prey, Justice League, Squadron and Justice Society.

This character will be played by Aldis Hodge in the Black Adam film.

Cyclone

Granddaughter of Red Tornado aka Abigail “Ma” Hunkel, Maxine Hunkel was kidnapped at a young age and was injected with Red Tornado nanobytes. Her powers didn’t kick in until years later. From blowing up her grandmother’s garage from a sneeze to waking up in a tornado, Hunkel discovers that she is able to manipulate wind.

As the Justice Society decides to recruit new members, Maxine became one of them. She was invited into the team by Power Girl and Mr. Terrific. She made her first appearance in Kingdom Come and that’s where she took her grandmother’s name, Red Tornado.

Quintessa Swindell will be taking up the role of Cyclone in the film.

Albert Rothstein aka Nuklon/Atom-Smasher

A metahuman who can control molecular structure, Rothstein has some dark family connections. His grandfather was a villain named Cyclotron. Al Pratt, who’s Rothstein’s godfather, raised him to become a hero as Nuklon. Albert eventually chose to change his name as the Atom-Smasher and became a close friend/ally to Black Adam once the former champion of Shazam became part of the JSA.

The Atom Smasher became a hero that upheld what his godfather taught him. He saw Pratt’s son Damage as a brother and even became an older brother figure to Stargirl. However, when his mother was murdered in a plane crash by Kobra, he goes back in time with Metron and saves his mother but kills the super-villain.

Albert Rothstein will be played by Noah Centineo.

Doctor Fate

Ever since we got our first look at Doctor Fate during this year’s Super Bowl, there’s been questions on whether the character will have eyes on his helmet, just like in the comics. Those questions are now answered from this POP where we see that the character won’t dawn the eyes. Kent Nelson better known as Doctor Fate, is a powerful sorcerer who fights evil. The helmet, cloak and amulet he carries were created by the ancient Nabu who is both a guide and mentor.

He got this power after releasing Nabu during an expedition with his father. Nelson’s father dies due to a poisonous gas that was unleashed while releasing the cosmic being. Nabu begins to train Nelson, giving him powers with molecular control and becoming an agent of the Lords of Order. As Doctor Fate, the hero becomes a founding member of the Justice Society of America.

This character will be played by former 007 actor, Pierce Brosnan.

These POPs are available to order now at Funko online store. It should also be noted that more POPs will be released soon so don’t forget to sign up with your email to be notified when more Black Adam POPs will drop.
