Back in September, HyperX announced a collaboration with Naruto: Shippuden, celebrating each of their 20th Anniversaries. The HyperX Naruto: Shippuden collection marks the gaming company’s first partnership with an anime, and the products did not disappoint.
The Illuminerdi was lucky enough to be sent a HyperX Naruto: Shippuden bundle, and here’s what we thought.
THE HYPERX NARUTO: SHIPPUDEN COLLECTION IS STUNNING

First off, this collection is stunning. Our friends over at HyperX sent us the Naruto-themed equipment, and we can’t stop looking at it. The design of the boxes is sleek and minimal but unique, making you want to go full-on hoarder and hold onto them forever.
Each piece of equipment also has really cool designs featuring symbols from the Naruto world. With the Naruto versions, the Hidden Leaf Village symbol is featured heavily on all of the orange and black-themed gaming equipment. The keyboard switches out some keycaps with different Naruto symbols, including a kunai, the Hidden Leaf symbol, and the famous spiral of the Uzumaki clan.
THE MOUSE IS SOLID BUT COULD LEAVE EXPERIENCED GAMERS WANTING MORE
The mouse featured in the HyperX Naruto: Shippuden Collection is suitable for entry-level PC gamers. It’s HyperX’s Pulsefire Haste gaming mouse but styled after the two legendary shinobis. The result is a cool-looking mouse that lets you see straight through it and get a glimpse of its components, but that’s also where the problem lies.
Because of its transparent design, the mouse is extremely light, making it excellent entry hardware, but more veteran gamers may prefer a mouse with more weight to it. I didn’t have any issues using the mouse, it was a simple plug-and-play, but I found myself wanting something heavier with a better grip.
THE KEYBOARD IS PERFECT FOR NARUTO FANS
The HyperX Naruto: Shippuden Collection nailed the keyboard, a spin on the company’s Alloy Origins keyboard. Straight out of the box, you’ll immediately notice how heavy the keyboard is. The weight is really nice, and it feels super sturdy.
As mentioned previously, the Naruto-themed keycaps are an excellent addition and look great once you plug it in and see it in its full RGB glory. The keyboard also uses HyperX’s mechanical switches, making every press smooth and feel great. The RGB lighting is pretty standard, but pairing it with the company’s NGENUITY software lets you fully customize the lighting.
HYPERX NAILS THE HEADSET
The HyperX Naruto: Shippuden headset is probably the best part of the entire collection. The Cloud Alpha headset already has numerous 5-star reviews online. The plug-and-play device sits comfortably on your head and doesn’t hurt your ears. The sound quality is incredible.

The microphone leaves a bit to be desired. Its quality isn’t as good as a standalone microphone, but it does get the job done. While using Discord, some friends said it sounded like your typical Turtle Beach-style microphones, but the quality while streaming was pretty close to perfect.
THE MOUSEPAD IS GORGEOUS
The mousepad in the HyperX Naruto: Shippuden Collection is the best-looking piece of equipment. Its long length makes it more of a gaming mat, as it takes up most of your desk. Its stitching is high-quality, and once the mousepad is placed on your desk, its anti-slip rubber base will make sure it doesn’t go anywhere.
The design of the mousepad is also just incredible. The symbols of all five shinobi villages sprawl across the top, and a repeating kunai and shuriken design makes up most of the pad. Moving your mouse across this mousepad is as smooth as ever, and it’s much more durable than your typical gaming mat.
THE VERDICT
The HyperX Naruto: Shippuden Collection is excellent for any gamer who’s also a Naruto fan. The equipment is well worth the price point, and getting all the pieces will completely transform your setup into an anime-inspired gaming station.
Make sure to pick up this hardware as soon as possible, as HyperX confirmed the collection has a limited edition release. You won’t regret it.
What are your thoughts on the Hyper X Naruto: Shippuden collection? Will you grab any of the equipment before it’s gone? What other anime do you want to see HyperX collaborate with? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter, and check back with The Illuminerdi for more gaming reviews.
