The upcoming sequel, The Way of Water, the film picks up over 10 years after the events of the first film, which is appropriate since the first movie came out almost 13 years ago. The Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their children) are faced with a new threat, and they go to great lengths in order to keep each other safe, fight battles to stay alive, and face tragedies that they will struggle to endure.

James Cameron is back as director for the film, which he co-wrote with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Cameron and Jon Landau are producing the film for Lightstorm Entertainment. David Valdes and Richard Baneham are executive producers on the sequels.

The wait for the film has been long, but the wait for Avatar: The Way of Water is just about finally over. The marketing push has ramped up, and it’s great to see Funko getting in on the action for the franchise with these new Pop figures. However, the Funko Pops likely won’t be hitting the shelves until after the sequel arrives in theaters. Fans will finally be able to return to the world of Pandora once more on Dec. 16.
