Marvel Studios had a significant presence at last week’s Comic-Con Experience 2022 (CCXP) in São Paulo, Brazil. This included a special look at The Legacy of Ant-Man featurette to highlight the upcoming film, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, at the convention.
The new video highlights the legacy of Scott Lang, aka the hero Ant-Man, across the past films of the MCU, leading up to his next adventure, Quantumania, which arrives in theaters this February. You can check out the new featurette below:
ANT-MAN GETS THE SPOTLIGHT IN NEW FEATURETTE AT CCXP
Stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp), and Jonathan Majors (Kang) were all on hand at CCXP for the Marvel Studios panel, along with director Peyton Reed and producer/Head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige. They introduced the special retrospective on their characters and their roles in the grander MCU.

As you can see from the featurette, it includes footage from Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Ant-Man and The Wasp, and Avengers: Endgame. It then builds up to footage of Quantumania, showcasing Scott, Hope, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) traveling to the Quantum Realm, where they are unwittingly trapped in the clutches of Kang and his minions.
Most of the Quantumania footage appeared repurposed from the earlier trailer and sizzle reels shown at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 and the D23 Expo. However, the snippet of Kang telling Scott, “You’re out of your league…Ant-Man,” appeared to be new.
Based on the footage, it looks like Quantumania is going to be an intense, emotional, mind-bending MCU thrill ride. Scott and his friends definitely look like they are going to be in for the fight of their lives against the all-powerful Kang, who looks like he has forces at his command that would make Thanos envious. Not to mention, the Quantum Realm itself looks like a trippy, bizarre place where it appears the laws of reality and physics have been subverted, or possibly do not even apply anymore.
Not to mention, it looks like there will be some interesting new creatures and characters showcased in the film. Bill Murray also makes his MCU debut in the film. Quantuamania will also mark the MCU of mainstay Marvel villain, M.O.D.O.K.

This film will mark the official MCU appearance as Kang, who looks to be an all-powerful despot and megalomaniac. Technically, a variant of Kang appeared earlier in the MCU TV series, Loki, who called himself He Who Remains. However, Kang appears to be a much more power-hungry and tyrannical variant. But Scott Lang appears to have skills that Kang desires.
In the official trailer, it appears Kang is trying to recruit Scott Lang, and in exchange, he’s offering Scott and his friends and loved ones a way home. That said, it seems unlikely that someone such as Kang can be trusted.
The wait is almost over because the next installment in the Ant-Man franchise and the first installment of MCU’s Phase 5, Quantumania, is out in just a few short months. The film will hit theaters on Feb. 17, 2023.
What do you think of the new featurette spotlighting Ant-Man Scott Lang? Does it get you excited and your blood pumping to watch Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania early next year? Do you expect the film will kick off MCU’s Phase 5 with a bang? Or has MCU’s Phase 4 left you feeling too cold thus far?
