NEW SPIDER-MAN 2 GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE SHOWS THE SYMBIOTE SUITE IN ACTION

The new gameplay footage shows off Peter Parker, who now has the Venom symbiote black costume in the newly revealed gameplay footage. It looks like Kraven the Hunter, aka Sergei Kravinoff, has arrived in New York City, and he’s hunter Dr. Curt Connors, aka The Lizard, which draws out the Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, who have to help.

It looks like Peter wearing his new symbiote costume will be an active part of the gameplay. Previously, the reveal trailer for the title revealed that Venom will appear in the game, with Tony Todd providing the voice of the Venom symbiote.

It’s not yet clear how Venom will make his ultimate appearance in the game, along with who will be taking up the Venom identity, but it looks like what happens here takes place in the early half of the game. It also looks like gamers will be taking control of both Peter Parker’s Spider-Man along with Miles Morales’ Spider-Man.

The addition of the symbiote suit looks like it will grant Peter a new set of abilities and techniques for the gameplay experience. Also, based on the cutscenes, it looks like the symbiote’s influence is having an affect on Peter, making him more violent and aggressive. And it looks like Miles is noticing the changes caused by the symbiote as well. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the final product and how Venom figures into the story, and if it is in fact Eddie Brock who eventually dons the symbiote and transforms into Venom.
