We were fortunate enough to get a chance to sit down with the film’s director, Camille Delamarre, who you may know from his work on Brick Mansions and The Transporter Refueled. Being a veteran of the genre, we asked what drew Delamarre to Assassin Club.

I got a script with this, this story, this concept and I felt in love with this project. I was sure
I wanted to direct it, because you have not just a great part of action, but you have also a real part for drama, a lot of characters, diversity with a woman and man, and just, you have a lot of ingredients
I like to play with as director and it was also an independent action movie, not a studio movie. Where I got a lot of liberty to express my vision of what I like and what I want to create, to build. And
so, yeah, it was very, very, very cool.

One of my person favorite parts of the film is the pacing. It goes from high intensity, to somber in a very natural rhythm, almost like breathing. So I asked Delamarre about it and he shared his insight on kind of matching the pace to the breath of the character audiences are following in the film.

I found just a real, a real like my own, my love for this kind of dynamic reading. And in this movie, my goal was to create like a real roller coaster and a real like immersive action film for the audiences and to feel, to feel, out of breath and just [be] inside the action with a character.
