So we asked and he shared his expertise.
Yeah, for me, it’s a difficult question because I get a lot of fun in many different genres. Some [I like] with a lot of CGI effects and just something very, like, a studio movie with a bit cartoonish. And I like also this kind of grounded action movie. So I think you have some good things in just a different type of action movie. But in this one, what I like, it’s again, it was the occasion to direct an organic film with just a real feeling of reality because all the fight scenes, all the stunts were with the main cast.
Henry Numi-Repes and Henry Golding are running, fighting, falling for real. And just, it’s not, they were not with me just for a close-up and reactions and to leave all the funny action moments to stunt doubles.
Camille Delamarre, Assassin Club Director
They were with me, ready to fight and just to give the maximum to make this action realistic. And that’s why also I choose to shoot a lot of scenes with a handheld cam and some, just to feel this kind of reality and not to try to not create some distances between the camera and what we have on screen. So yeah, it was, again, it was intense and created with passion and passion for action.
