What Isis has Learned from Sol in With Love
Actors have a unique ability to not only bring characters to life but also to be deeply influenced by the roles they portray. As they immerse themselves in the complexities of their characters, actors often find that they learn valuable lessons and gain new perspectives from the roles they play. The process of understanding a character’s motivations, emotions, and experiences allows actors to tap into their own vulnerabilities and explore uncharted territories within themselves.
Through this transformative journey, actors discover aspects of their own personalities that they may not have been aware of before. The exchange between actor and character becomes a profound symbiotic relationship, where the actor learns from the character’s triumphs and struggles, and the character, in turn, is shaped by the actor’s unique interpretation. This dynamic process not only enriches the actor’s craft but also enables personal growth and a deeper understanding of the human condition.
With the complex and poignant way With Love handles growth, development, and love, we had to know what the cast has learned from their characters. Isis King shares with us what she has learned from Sol Perez.
I would say speaking up. Miles challenges Sol to speak up. You better speak up for yourself before I speak up for you. And I think although that caused conflict, it forced Sol to kind of grow up a little bit, you know, and realize like I’m an adult and even though we’re family and you’re like an authority figure in my family, I’m still an adult and you should show me that respect.
So I think it forced Sol to kind of speak up for themselves. And that’s definitely something that I’ve taken with me and have always tried to like juggle and make sure I do. But and sometimes, you know, didn’t feel like I had the courage to. So definitely speaking up for myself.Isis King, Sol Perez in Prime Video’s With Love
