Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive officially revealed the new co-op mode that will be available in the upcoming, highly anticipated sequel, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The new installment of the series, based on the iconic tabletop game series from Games Workshop, will bring a new level of spectacle to the franchise with the new co-op mode.

You can check out the new Co-Cop Campaign reveal trailer for Space Marine 2, featuring new action gameplay and cinematic footage first revealed at this year’s Summer Game Fest live showcase below:

WARHAMMER 40,000: SPACE MARINE 2 TRAILER REVEALS NEW FOOTAGE OF THE CO-OP CAMPAIGN

According to Focus Entertainment Saber Interactive, gamers will be able to experience the game’s new campaign via solo gameplay or through co-op with a friend. The new game features the return of fan-favorite character Lieutenant Titus, who is portrayed in the sequel by Clive Standen, replacing Mark Strong from the original.

In Space Marine 2, gamers will have to face the Tyranid hordes as the Emperor’s greatest warriors. They will be able to use a deadly in-game arsenal and play solo or cooperatively with friends or AI in a three-player co-op gameplay experience.

The new trailer offers more insight into the narrative campaign. It looks like Titus has been reinstated by his Imperium command following the events of the last time, and now he’s being sent to quell a Tyranid splinter fleet, which is attacking two planets, Avarax Kodaku.

The new footage also shows an expanded look at how the co-op will work for the third-person action game. It looks like Titus will have a three-team squad, where other players can join in, or they will be AI-controlled. Hopefully, it will not be a drawback to what was established in the original title.

Thus far, it appears that the Tyrnaids are the primary threat and villains in the upcoming game. Much like the original, it looks like there will be both melee and shooter combat and an impressive arsenal at the players’ disposal. The game also looks like it has a strong narrative campaign that is faithful to Games Workshops’ Warhammer universe.

The new-generation console graphics look epic and impressive, and if the game can hold up with tons of enemies on the screen as the footage suggests, Space Marine 2 looks like it could be a great deal of fun. Hopefully, the final product is as good as it looks.

The game is due to launch later this winter as a multi-platform release. The game will be available in both a standard edition and a prestigious Collector’s Edition release. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 hits the shelves this winter for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC.
