Baten Kaitos I & II™ HD Remaster release date revealed as the Nintendo Switch port releases this September. Players will be able to experience the RPG game on the current generation console, featuring the card-based system fans enjoyed in the original Nintendo GameCube title. The upcoming release will be available as a digital copy containing both games in the franchise, but a physical release for the game has also been announced. This physical copy of the remastered games will be exclusive to specific stores and newly introduced features will be added to improve the overall gaming experience.

Bandai Namco has remastered the Baten Kaitos games for fans to enjoy on the Nintendo Switch, which includes Baten Kaitos™: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos™ Origins. The JRPG games featured a unique combination of turn-based combat with a card system known as Magnus. The Magnus cards have a variety of uses including weapons, equipment, and abilities that aid the characters during battles. Both games also have a fantastic story that immerses players as a Guardian Spirit that helps the protagonists instead of taking on the role of the main character.

Baten Kaitos Returns this September

This late summer, reshuffle the cards with the return of Baten Kaitos™: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos™ Origins, the iconic Nintendo GameCube card-based RPG games, coming in High Definition to Nintendo Switch on Friday 15th September 2023!

Baten Kaitos I & II™ HD Remaster will allow both original players and newcomers to again discover the endearing and emotional journey that awaits them in both Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Origins. In the first story, follow Kalas in his quest for revenge for the death of his loved ones, and then dive deeper into the secrets of the Alfard Empire alongside Sagi in the sequel.

Baten Kaitos I & II™ HD Remaster introduces new features such as encounters-off, auto-battle, skip cutscenes, and auto-save to make this remaster even more accessible to new players. Overall, the game and battle speed can be increased up to 300%. In order to slay your enemies even faster, you can now use “Instant KO” and win the battle in a single attack; in times when rest is needed, enable the function “No Encounter” to avoid battles on your way. Baten Kaitos I & II™ HD Remaster also comes with other several system settings to support game progression!

This will be an incredible game to dive into as the JRPG had a unique twist by incorporating a card-based system for combat. It’s great that new features have been added for the overall flow of the game as it can be tedious to handle to huge amount of monster encounters that occur. This will allow players to select how they wish to enjoy the game, while also adding to the ‘Guardian Spirit’ experience that the player takes the role of. It will be exciting to see how the new mechanics change the game and the feedback from past fans that enjoyed the original release.

Synopsis
A long time ago, there was a great conflict between the evil god and the people. After a fierce battle, the people managed to seal off the evil god, but what was left behind was a desolate land. The people thus chose to abandon the land and live in the sky.

Such fairy tales were passed down as legends. At this time, people had wings called Wings of the Heart and lived a peaceful life. It was an era of long-lasting tranquility… But the collapse had quietly already begun.

When a young man calls upon the Guardian Spirt, the story begins to unfold. A story set on a floating continent in the sky, where thoughts and prayers intersect.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
