KingOhger: Bandai Highlights All the Awesome Shugods in the Series So Far

Bandai highlights the Shugods featured in Ohsama Sentai KingOhger. Featuring the incredible scenes for 16 of the Guardian Deities.
KingOhger

KingOhger highlights all Shugods released in the 47th Sentai series so far as Bandai releases videos showcasing the incredible mechs. The mechanical-lifeform guardian deities have been granted a highlight video that focuses on their incredible designs and capabilities, including some of the Weapon-Class Guardians that appeared in early episodes. The releases feature replays of their debuts, along with comparisons to their motif and the awesome abilities they use in battle.

KingOhger

Ohsama Sentai KingOhger is a royal-themed Sentai series dominantly but combined with an insect theme that outlines many elements of the series. This includes the Ranger’s motifs, and their mechanical partners, and even adds great depth to the countries that each King reigns. So far, there have been 18 Shugods introduced to the series, with two Robos featured for the main team and the 6th Ranger. A dark version of KingOhger also exists as God Kuwagata Zero is partnered with the evil King, OhKuwagata Ohger.

Bandai Highlights KingOhger’s Magnificent Shugods

The Shugods include the various partners of the Super Sentai team such as the personal partner of each King and the full range of Shugods that combine to fight the Bugnarak. Although many Shugods are featured in recent episodes, the video does exclude the artificial Shugods and the recent additions such as Guardian Pede and Guardian Cicada, which only combine after God Tarantula finally debuted his Tarantula Knight mode. The video features 16 of the 18 Shugods, showcasing their insect likeness and their special abilities that help the team get through many adversities.

A video also followed that showcases the KingOhger, the main Robo that is formed by the main 10 Shugods. The video also features the combinations seen in the series and the attacks that it can use. This video also excludes the Tarantula Knight and the recent weapon-class guardians, which will likely feature in another video in the future. The video also the recent formation for Extreme KingOhger, which includes the God Tarantula in a 14-Shugod formation featured in Episode 18.

The designs have been some of the greatest featured in a Super Sentai series and it’s amazing how detailed the creators have been able to make them. It shows just how much thought and work have been put into the most recent Sentai series, which may never be adapted into a Power Rangers or released outside of Japan.

Not only have the Shugods been an amazing set of mecha, but the overall concept has been one of the greatest Superhero releases ever. It will be amazing if fans outside of Japan can experience this epic tale, but fans may have to wait and see if Shout! Factory ever gets to release the Sentai as a Complete Collection DVD. Considering the money to be made, and the growing popularity, I have high hopes but also know there is no guarantee.

Ohsama Sentai KingOhger is currently airing a new episode every Sunday via TV-Asahi in Japan. The 47th Super Sentai series will continue with Episode 19 on July 9, 2023.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
