Boom! Studios are already providing so much content for fans during the 30th anniversary, but this new release takes it one step further. With Darkest Hour and Ranger Academy, the comics are surprisingly dominant for a franchise that focused on Live Action content. It will be amazing to see the stories for Ernie and Alpha 5, but the other stories will be a dramatic expansion of what fans know about the overall story.

The Master Morpher reappearing for the new alternate Tommy will be a brilliant witness, along with the dive into Tommy’s relationship with Kat. Fans will also be wondering how far back this story will go as JJ is the son of both characters, who also featured in the Soul Of The Dragon comic. With Ranger Academy coming soon, it will be interesting to see more fleshed out as we discover when the story might take place in the timeline fans are aware of. As a 30th-anniversary special, it will be amazing to dive into this collection of tales as they may shed light on upcoming events.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 30th Anniversary Comic Special will be available in comic shops August 30. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
