It seems the new suit for Marvel’s Ironheart has been leaked.
And as unlikely as it may seem, the leak comes from eBay. Thanks to a pair of socks up for sale on the auction site, we may finally have some good news about the upcoming Marvel series.
Ironheart has been one of the casualties of the Marvel delays, with a reported pushback to September 2025. News for Ironheart has generally been quite thin on the ground, so it’s nice to finally have some momentum for the show.
Why is Ironheart already popping up on eBay?
Three listings were found for some socks which are reportedly crew gifts from Ryan Coogler (director of the Black Panther movies as well as Creed and Fruitvale Station), his wife Zinzi, and business partner Sev Ohanian (Judas and the Black Messiah, The Future) who are the founders of Proximity Media, the company which will co-produce Ironheart.
The listings include a pair of socks along with a note that reads: “Thank you! to the Wisest Guys around for a fantastic show! Sev, Zinzi, Ryan & The Team At Proximity.”

The ‘Wisest Guys’ quip is believed to be a reference to Ironheart’s working title Wise Guy which, coupled with the $99 price tag, lends credence to their authenticity.
The item description gives further credence to their authenticity, as it reads: ‘Show off your love for Marvel Studios with these exclusive Ironheart Cast & Crew socks. Tese [sic] rare socks are a must-have for any television memorabilia collector. Made withh high-quality materials, these socks are perfect for both casual wear and as a collectible item. Featuring the iconic Ironheart logo, these socks are a unique piece of entertainment merchandise that every fan would love to own. Perfect as a gift for yourself or a fellow Marvel enthusiast, these socks are sure to be a conversation starter. This item is brand new. Please feel free to ask me any questions you have. Thanks’
How does the suit look?
The socks’ designs are obviously very stylized, which has led some people to doubt whether or not they accurately reflect the final designs. But as Alex Perez points out on The Cosmic Circus, the image is “[l]iterally a blend of the Wakanda Forever suit and her comic outfit. They aligned the heart to the middle and implemented the forehead heart.”
It strikes me as being very Vision-esque, with the forehead heart in place of the Mind Stone and a very smooth, sleek design. That’s a good sign, as far as I’m concerned because it keeps Riri’s image in line with Tony Stark’s vision and aesthetic.
Who is Ironheart?
Ironheart, the superhero alias of Riri Williams, was created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato and first appeared in Invincible Iron Man #7 in 2016.
Riri Williams is a young genius inventor who reverse-engineered her own suit of powered armor using stolen technology from her university. She caught the attention of Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, who saw potential in her. After Tony Stark fell into a coma, Riri Williams took on the mantle of Ironheart, using her suit of armor to fight crime and protect the innocent.

She made her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (played by Dominique Thorne, If Streets Could Talk; Judas and the Black Messiah) where she is an MIT student responsible for creating a Vibranium detector, which results in her being hunted Namor.
Ironheart is known for her intelligence, resourcefulness, and technological expertise. She has become a prominent and popular character in the Marvel Universe, especially for her role as a young African-American superhero and a symbol of diversity and representation in the comics.
Do you think these socks are the real deal? Do they show off our final Ironheart design? Or is this all the musings of a fandom desperate for more information? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or on our social media.
