Skybound kicked off the Energon Universe in June 2023 with the appearance of the Transformers character Jetfire in Void Rivals Issue #1 from Robert Kirkman, Lorenzo De Felici, and Mateus Lopes. This was the start of Skybound’s collaboration with Hasbro for their new line of Transformers and G.I. Joe comic books.
The line continued later on starting with Transformers Issue #1 from writer and artist Daniel Warren Johnson and colorist Mike Spicer. It later expanded with the new limited series, Duke Issue #1 from Joshua Williamson and Jordie Bellaire, and Cobra Commander Issue #1 from Williamson, Andrea Milana, and Annalisa Leoni. Skybound is promising more secrets to be revealed and answers to big questions with the comic line moving forward, along with some can’t-miss moments.
