After years of anxiety-inducing rumors until a near state of apathy, the MCU’s Fantastic Four cast has been revealed. Yes, it’s official this time. Marvel Studios announced the news via social media on Instagram, confirming the new cast.
Now without a shadow of a doubt, everyone knows that Pedro Pascal is Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby is Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn is Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is Ben Grimm/The Thing.
To anyone who was still holding out hope for John Krasinski to return as Reed after being shredded by the Scarlet Witch, please accept my condolences. Anyway, the casting process for MCU’s proper introduction has been quite a whirlwind. There has been a revolving door of names attached to this movie.

Reports of Emma Stone being Marvel’s top pick for Sue but declining due to a financial disagreement have been circling. Adam Driver was said to have declined the role of Reed because he could not connect with the character. Every other actor was rumored or reported to star in Fantastic Four including Dev Patel, Penn Badgley, Daveed Diggs, Mila Kunis, Joe Keery, and Paul Mescal, among so many others. Ross Lynch’s name also came up at one point for whatever reason.
Since it’s been reported that Pedro Pascal was in talks to play Mr. Fantastic following strong rumors of Vanessa Kirby being a lock for The Invisible Woman, the casting process gained a lot more stability. There have been barely any Twitter eruptions about anyone dropping out ever since.
Shortly after Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach completed the four as the most consistent names in the rumor mill. Moss-Bachrach is fresh off a Primetime Emmy Award win from The Bear. Interestingly enough, he previously co-starred opposite Jon Bernthal in the Marvel Netflix series, The Punisher, as David Linus “Micro” Lieberman.
Famous scooper Daniel Richtman revealed that the cast was set via his Patreon, and multiple sources corroborated. Confirmation of the cast has been steadily building towards this moment, putting any remaining rumors to rest. Shooting for the reboot is expected to start later this year, and the film is slated for a July 25, 2025 release, shifting from its previous May 2, 2025 release.
