Digimon Liberator reveals the names of Tamers for the upcoming webcomic series, featuring the first 4 cards and the synopsis of the series. The new Digimon project starting this Spring will feature integration with the Card Game and the new Tamers have been revealed as players in a virtual world. Along with details of the tamers of Pteromon and Shoemon, two new characters have also been revealed that were teased in the 2nd reveal trailer. A new visual has also been featured as the Bandai Card Games Fest was hosted this year in LA.

Digimon Liberator is the upcoming Web comic series coming to Digimon Web, featuring a whole new story and original characters. The Mascot Pteromon is the latest reveal for the new series, along with new partner Digimon, Shoemon. Only 2 tamers have been visually revealed so far, which will be partnered with the new Digimon. The 2nd teaser also revealed other Tamers and their partners, with the Digimon Card Game as a major integration of the story. Currently, Digimon Seekers is active and reaching its climate as a web novel series with a whole range of new Digimon, with integration of the Vital Bracelet BE series.
Digimon Liberator: 4 Characters Revealed, first 4 Digimon Cards, and VRMMO Synopsis
The 2 main tamers previously revealed have now been unveiled along with the thrilling synopsis of the upcoming webcomics series. The story of the new web novel coming this Spring has been revealed to have a VR vibe as the card game takes place in a full-immersion metaverse game.
The tamers of Pteromon and Shoemon have also been revealed to be named Shoto Kazama and Arisa Kinosaki, respectively. Along with the bios for these characters, 2 new characters have also been teased as Owen Dreadnought and Zenith are revealed for both the story and upcoming tamer cards.
In addition to their reveals, the cards for both the fully revealed tamers and their partner Digimon have been revealed, including new deck types and linked effects. The deck types include a Green Bird Beatdown deck for Pteromon and Shoto, along with a yellow Puppet Aggro deck for Shoemon and Arisa. Shoto Kazama’s deck will also be compatible with Digimon with the Avian or Bird trait, Arisa with the Puppet trait, and a new Liberator trait is also present on all cards. Both tamers will give a player a memory when Digivolving into a Digimon with the listed trait, with more cards to be revealed soon as the cards are only promotional editions.
It will be exciting to dive into the story finally and the story sounds like a delightful combination of Yu-Gi-Oh’s Legendary Heroes arc with Sword Art Online vibes. Naturally, fans will be hoping for a video game for the Digimon TCG but it would be amazing if the first release featured the concept for the webcomic, with VR compatibility. It’s also great to finally have more revealed about the characters, but the 2nd trailer has also given us a clue into what Owen and Zenith will have as Digimon partners. This includes Vemmon for Zenith and a potential new aquatic-like Digimon for Owen, which has yet to be fully revealed.
As the debut of the webcomics continues to draw closer, it will be exciting to find out all the characters and their Digimon, along with the start of the story in this metaverse TCG world. It will also be curious to see the other characters and Digimon teased for the new series, especially if they have new Digivolutions that differ from the Digimon previously featured on the Vital Bracelet lines. More reveals are expected to feature soon, especially as Digimon Con 2024 will feature next month.
