The game will be available as a free downloadable title for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows PC (via Steam and Epic Games Games Store). Additionally, the full launch will have full cross-play and cross-progression support. The developers also released a new official Developer Update video, showcasing the journey to the game’s upcoming launch, which you can view below:

MultiVersus Return Features Tons of Content

Player First Games released an official developer update today detailing the return of the platform fighter. The sneak peek at the official launch comes with vast upgrades, with the development team listening to and implementing player feedback from the beta.

The most significant change comes in the form of the game’s engine, with MultiVersus switching to Unreal Engine 5 for its official launch. This update will improve the game’s overall visuals and character lighting. When you boot up MultiVersus this May, everything from the stages and characters to Shaggy’s sandwiches and Batman’s batarangs will look better.

MultiVersus’s overall performance also gets a welcome boost, with Player First Games rebuilding the game from the ground up to support their new netcode. This change aims to provide players worldwide with more consistent and accurate online play regardless of platform.

Of course, the massive roster of beloved characters from the beta is also returning. The launch will feature characters from franchises like DC Comics, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, and Game of Thrones. However, they won’t be alone, as Player First Games promises “exciting, brand new personalities” will be added to the roster along with new stages. Each character will have new attacks and combat mechanics as the developers strive to put more skill expression in players’ hands.
