Morphin Grid Corrupted in MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS #119

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #119 forces the Rangers to enter survival mode as the Grid is corrupted. Check out the preview for the next upcoming issue.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #119 continues the struggle as the Morphin Grid is completely corrupted. The latest upcoming issue for the Boom! Studios series will feature a combined effort as the Ranger faces a dire situation and struggles to survive. With Earth now the only haven from Dark Specter, the Rangers find themselves bonding throughout their test of survival while also being divided by the pressure to succeed.

The Darkest Hour delivers a perfect coalesce between old and new characters from the Power Rangers timeline. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is now 8 issues into its 30th-anniversary event, which started in August 2023. The story has featured a mix of incredible and iconic characters, including the return of the Hyperforce Rangers and the debut of the Drakkon Rangers. However, the event has also allowed for the inclusion of many disordered entries, such as the Wild Force Ranger and Dino Charge Rangers, and even debuted the Power Eggs from a Mighty Morphin episode plot hole.

Darkest Hour Event Continues the Test of Survival in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #119

BOOM! Studios, under license by leading toy and game company Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), revealed a first look at Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #119, the continuation of the Darkest Hour event, taking place after the bold and greatly anticipated Reunited, Recharged era of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The superstar creative lineup includes writer Melissa Flores (Power Rangers, The Dead Lucky), artist Simona Di Gianfelice (All New Firefly) with Marco Renna (Mighty Morphin), colorist Raúl Angulo (Mech Cadet Yu) with assistance by Jose Enrique Fernández, and letterer Ed Dukeshire (The Woods, Irredeemable) in the continuation of this monumental 12-month event, available in April.

Despite an unrelenting onslaught from Dark Specter, Earth is the last bastion of relative safety, but is surrounded by an entirely corrupted Morphin Grid! But it’s only a matter of time before the enemy breaks through, and it will take the combined might of every surviving Ranger to enact their plan!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #119 features main cover art by star artist Taurin Clarke (Miles Morales: Spider-Man) and variant covers by acclaimed illustrators Björn Barends (Spawn), Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), and the final connecting cover by Michael Walsh (The Silver Coin)!

Celebrating 30 continuous years on the air, Power Rangers has become one of the longest-running kids’ live-action series in television history, with more than 900 episodes aired to date. Created by Haim Saban and launched in 1993 with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the series celebrates its 30th year with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, an anniversary special streaming exclusively on Netflix. The 30th overall season of Power Rangers, “Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury,” is currently available exclusively on Netflix.

The recent releases have been a fantastic opportunity to explore many characters in the Zordon era. Flores has opened up a missing piece of history in the Power Rangers world as characters from the two different Mighty Morphin casts are forced into a devastating challenge. The story also perfectly includes many exclusive additions from the comics and even includes many fantastic seasons, which makes the event even more dramatic. It will be curious to see if the power shifts in the Ranger’s favor and how the timeline could be restored after such an impactful terror.

Print copies of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #119 will be available for sale on April 24, 2023 at local comic book shops (use to find the one nearest you) or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers like iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
