Murai in Love anime will debut this fall in October, exclusively airing on Disney+. The anime is an adaption from the original manga Murai no Koi written by Junta Shima. The announcement of the manga becoming an anime series was announced in June 2022 and was later confirmed by J.C. STAFF who is handling the production of the series.

Murai in Love is based on the relationship between a teacher and student, Ayano Tanaka is a female teacher who has a big passion for Otome games for girls. Murai a modest high school boy who has a crush on his teacher Miss Tanaka, confesses his love to her. You can check out the visual key art for the upcoming rom-com anime series below:
After politely rejecting Murai’s advances, Murai comes back the next day with a brand-new makeover! The only thing is now Murai looks exactly like Tanaka’s favorite Otome game character. How will Miss Tanaka handle this new development? Will Murai be able to win the heart of his teacher with his new looks?
FIRST TRAILER RELEASED FOR MURAI IN LOVE ANIME

J.C STAFF who is behind the production of the series has also produced such series as The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, Toradora, Sugar Apple Fairy, and many more. Directing Murai in Love is Yoshiki Yamakawa who has worked on series like; Orguss (1993-1995), Azumanga Daio, Hi Score Girl, and many more.
The ending theme tune of the series has been produced by the Japanese band Yabai T-Shirt Shop. The first main PV video has the newly written song “SUKO” by the band. T-Shirt Shop made their first music label debate in 2016 with their fast pace, hard-core sound, and captivating lyrics, the band has been making its mark in Japan. Koyamatakuya, T-Shirt Shop made the following comment:
“I wrote the song with the image of Murai and Tanaka’s unusual love story. Honestly, we ended up with a really great song. It’s been 10 years since Yaba T formed, and they’re still able to make songs like this! Even I was surprised (lol) I really like it…! I think the song ended up being a bit nerve-wracking for some reason, even though he’s been saying strange things for a long time. Please enjoy it with the anime!”
