It’s nearly Luffy’s 25th birthday, and One Piece fans should prepare for a huge celebration! Across Europe, One Piece fandom will be coming together to celebrate Luffy’s birthday for the series’ 25th anniversary. Five major cities will be hosting the celebrations, with multiple events. Toei Animation Europe announced recently that the celebrations will begin on May 5, 2024.

Multiple giant inflatables representing Luffy in the different stages of the anime series will be displayed at each of the events, allowing fans to take photos with the famous Monkey. D Luffy. Fans can also take selfies on-site and send it to https://www.luffybirthday2024.com or using the hashtag #LuffyBirthday2024 on Instagram! You can find your photo with every other One Piece fan who posts on the website!

- Paris, France – Hotel de La Marine – Gear 5
All the locations will be decorated in the One Piece colors alongside the Giant inflatables to get fans into the spirit of the events. As One Piece touches the hearts of fans all around the world, now it’s time to show some love back for our favourite anime series and its characters. One Piece’s global popularity seems to be never-ending receiving such achievements as; Holding the Guinness world record for the most copies published in a single book series, written by a single author. That incredible author is Eiichiro Oda. the creator of One Piece.
One Piece manga has more than 510 million copies sold worldwide! Having 107 volumes published since its start in 1997. After the success of the manga, the volumes were then composed into its anime series, first airing on Oct 20, 1999. Since the start of the anime series has released 1102 episodes. One Piece has won two awards from Crunchyroll’s “Best Continuing Series” category winning in 2022 and 2023.
The anime series is produced by Toei Animation who has brought us anime titles such as; Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Captain Tsubasa, and more. As well as animating all 1102 episodes of One Piece, the animation company also produced 15 One Piece movies that link to the series. One Piece has fans all over the world young and old, some even famous like renowned actor, Samuel L. Jackson, who spoke in an interview praising the anime and its storyline.
One Piece has also been made into a live-action series on Netflix which aired its first season back on Aug 31, 2023. The live-action series has already been confirmed for season two which will be setting sail on Netflix in 2025. Over the years the One Piece franchise expanded to collaborate with some popular brands from around the world such as; Puma, Lush, Burger King, Vans, and more. Playing Luffy in the live-action is Mexican-born actor Inaki Godoy who portrays the character so well, we can see why the actor is gaining popularity after stepping out into the role of Luffy.
About One Piece: Luffy a boy with big dreams to become the king of the pirates must find a crew and set sail to find the treasure “One Piece.” It is said that any person who finds this treasure will become “king of the pirates”. Luffy builds a crew of his newfound friends and sets sail but remember Luffy is not the only pirate on the hunt for this treasure and not every journey is a smooth sail.
