The moment DC fans have all been waiting for is here at last. Behold the first look at David Corenswet as Superman from James Gunn himself.
The director and co-head of DC Studios took to Instagram to reveal Corenswet in the Kryptonian threads long before leakers got chance to take a hold of it.

Fans have been asking whether or not Kal-El will don the red trunks ever since we found out about James Gunn putting his contemporary spin on the Man of Tomorrow. Now that question has finally been laid to rest.
The suit is different from what one may expect. It looks homemade while being something you won’t necessarily find on Earth, which I believe is the aesthetic the costume designer intended. Co-head Peter Safran spoke about how the film deals with Superman reconciling his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing.
“It focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks that kindness is old-fashioned.”

James Gunn’s Superman film is making good progress thus far. It began filming at the end of February, and we have only seen one official photo until now. The movie is being filmed in Georgia and will be released on July 11th, 2025.
The cast comprises David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White.

Other cast members include Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, María Gabriela de Faría, Skyler Gisondo, and Sara Sampaio as Green Lantern(Guy Gardner), Mr. Terrific, Metamorpho, The Engineer, Jimmy Olsen and Eve Tesmacher respectively.
