Matt Cardona Believes The Miz ‘Can Do It All,’ Praises His Former WWE Colleague

IMPACT Matt Cardona

Matt Cardona, formerly Zack Ryder in WWE, thinks WWE Superstar The Miz is much better than he gets credit for. Cardona is currently the King of the Indies, but before that, he was a longtime WWE Superstar. Matt Cardona signed with the WWE in 2006 and was with the company until 2020. In that time he faced a lot of WWE Hall of Famers and future Hall of Famers. Many of his former opponents are recognized for their immense talent, but there’s one who he thinks deserves more credit.

On a recent episode of The Wrestling Matt, Matt Cardona expressed just how good The Miz is in the ring. He went on to say Miz can literally do it all inside and outside the ring. He was asked if he had a wrestling promotion and if Miz would be in his top 10 picks for the promotion. Matt Cardona stated the following:

“100 percent, he [The Miz] can do it all. He can do it all and I’m glad he is finally getting his flowers. Miz can do it all, he is a natural schmoozer, BSer, he could talk. He’s somebody who can do media. He can do movies, TV shows, and he can go in the ring.

“Some of my favorite matches with Miz, I’ll never forget, one time we had a match at Madison Square Garden and I know it’s gonna make me sound old, but we called it on the fly. We legit called it on the fly, and guess what? It was Miz calling the match, because he’s had so much time with John Cena when he was the champ. He is so good, does not get the credit that he deserves.”

The Miz’s Humble Beginnings in WWE

Miz’s WWE career started in 2004 when he was a contestant on Tough Enough. Despite his strong showing he was not able to win his season. However, like with almost all seasons of Tough Enough, the winner did nothing and the other contestants came back to have big wrestling careers. During Miz’s season of Tough Enough, he showed WWE he was someone to keep an eye on. In 2005 WWE signed him and sent him down to their developmental territory at the time, Deep South Wrestling. In 2006 he made his debut on SmackDown.

Miz became a regular part of SmackDown and then eventually made his way to WWE’s version of ECW and challenged CM Punk for the ECW Championship. As time went on he got more and more recognition and with that recognition gained opportunities. One of his first opportunities saw WWE putting the United States Championship on him in 2009.

Since then Miz has won many championships and showed the world why he is awesome. Some of these championships include WWE Championship, Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team. Miz along with R-Truth are the current World Tag Team champions.

Miz really can do it all in wrestling. He is a viable threat to any championship. If someone drops out of a feud because of an injury WWE can throw Miz in there to save the match. If a celebrity or someone who WWE doesn’t want to get injured needs an opponent they can give them to Miz and he will take care of them. He can also do comedy as shown with his current run with R-Truth. Whatever WWE needs Miz can do and do it well.

The Miz has made himself one of WWE’s most valuable wrestlers and WWE’s go-to guy. However, that position and being a great heel means they don’t always get the love they deserve.

Do you think The Miz “can do it all” like Matt Cardona does? Is there one area you think Miz needs to improve on? What have you thought of Miz’s current tag team championship run with R-Truth? Do you think Miz deserves another world title run in the near future? Let us know on social media who else in wrestling today doesn’t get the love they deserve.
