Set in the French Quarter of New Orleans, the film follows Emily, her fiancé Christian, and their friends who have recently opened an organic café in a renovated old carriage house. The plot takes a dark turn when Emily discovers an ancient pendulum board used for summoning spirits.

Witchboard Production: A Journey of Collaboration

The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Jamie Campbell Bower, Madison Iseman, Aaron Dominguez, Antonia Desplat, and Charlie Tahan. Jamie Campbell Bower, known for his roles in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, will be playing the role of Alexander Babtiste, an occult expert. Madison Iseman, recognized for her role in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, will be portraying Emily, the protagonist who stumbles upon an ancient pendulum board. Aaron Dominguez, Antonia Desplat, and Charlie Tahan will also be bringing their unique talents to the film, further enhancing its appeal.

The journey to bring Witchboard to the big screen began in 2017 when Chuck Russell and Greg McKay started working on the script. In May 2019, it was announced that Russell would direct the film, with Grimmfest, Minds Eye Entertainment, Falconer Pictures, and M2 Media Post as production partners. However, in March 2023, pre-production resumed with A-Nation Media replacing the previous production studios. Principal photography took place in Montreal from April to June 2023, with some scenes shot at Morgan Arboretum in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.

Witchboard is scheduled for release by Gala Films in 2024. While the exact date remains undisclosed, the anticipation is already building among horror film enthusiasts. The film’s unique blend of supernatural elements, compelling plot, and talented cast is sure to make it a standout entry in the horror genre.
