Tom Holland is expected to drastically increase his work load as multiple film productions look to kick back into gear.
Sony Pictures is working hard to make sure the third Spider-Man movie and their answer to Indiana Jones, Uncharted, stay on target for their respective release dates.
Uncharted was about to start filming in Germany before the shut down happened with COVID-19. The film stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, as Nathan Drake and Sully, a young adventurer and a grizzled veteran treasure hunter. Their search for historical artifacts and wealth take them on multiple adventures that are custom-built for the big screen. The studio is reportedly looking to begin shooting the video game adaptation in late July.
Tom Holland’s Busy Summer and Fall Season
Sony Pictures previously changed Uncharted’s release date from October 8th, 2021 to July 16th, 2021. That July date was the original release date for Holland’s Spider-Man 3. While Spider-Man 3 was pushed until November 5th, 2021, which was the previous date for the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
So it looks like Tom Holland will be shooting both films back to back. However, with all the uncertainty in the world and film industry, will it actually happen?

Charles Murphy of Murphy’s Multiverse, theorizes that the productions will ultimately overlap. Which would indicate that Spider-Man 3 could begin shooting scenes, that won’t require Tom Holland on set. Which makes sense, when you consider the amount of time Peter Parker is in costume as Spider-Man.
It seems Sony Pictures is rushing to make their new release dates, which makes sense. However, with the rules of social distancing and all those new guidelines in effect, the timing will no doubt be longer than before.
