While at a seminar at the New York Film Academy, Kevin Feige dropped some Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness teases that have fans on the edge of their seats.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has long been known for its exciting introductions to favorite comic book characters, and it sounds like its Chief Creative Officer is keeping the tradition going for the Doctor Strange sequel.
As reported by Comic Book Movie, Kevin Feige told the film students in attendance that they would never guess the new characters the MCU has planned for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It seems that Feige has been hoping to include some of these characters in MCU films for quite a bit of time, and it’s only possible now due to the sequel’s tone.
Doctor Strange Holds The Key
Feige shared how characters are often selected for each MCU movie, which helped to explain why The Multiverse of Madness in particular was right for the mystery heroes (or villains). According to him:
“Sometimes you’re choosing the title hero, choosing which main character or main team you want to bring to the screen and often times, it’s as you’re making and developing the movie [asking] ‘Who will come into it?’ and ‘Who will fit into it’?
When it came to the Master of the Mystic Arts’ sequel, the unexpected late entries came into being while discussing the unique genre:
“The next Doctor Strange film, for instance, features some new MCU characters which will be making their debut in that movie you won’t expect or won’t guess who it is but we found a cool way to make it work because we want to make a particular type of movie there and there was a character who we always wanted to do something with who will fit really well there.”
Perhaps the lucky additions will include one of the as-yet-unnamed favorites of Feige himself, as he once claimed in a Reddit AMA that, “I never play favorites, but there are many Marvel characters that I’ve loved for many years that are heading to the MCU soon.”
