Tristen Sultan a St. Jude Children’s research hospital patient got the opportunity to meet the Green Ranger himself, Jason David Frank, as reported by Local 24 Memphis news reporter Brittani Moncrease on Wednesday.
A while back we reported on Jason David Frank’s Power Ranger Protection Program where he goes to various comic book shops (while adhering to social distancing guidelines) in a hope to bring back some business to the stores that have struggled during the pandemic.
“It just clicked. The Power Rangers Protection Program,” said Frank. “If I could just show up free at a shop, do some social distancing program, raise some money for some of the comic shops and sign about 3-thousand-dollars of merchandise to leave them behind.”

During one of those meet ups he was able to meet another hero Tristen, who is currently fighting his own battle.
Jason David Frank Meet Up Raises Awareness for Tristen’s Story
Because of this meet up the local news station picked up the story and we were able to learn a little more about what Power Rangers fan, Tristen has been going through.
Tristen’s Mom Tiffanie Sultan noticed a bump on his eye back in April.
“I thought it was just a sis. We went to the eye doctor and they were like I don’t know,” said Sultan.
However, the family would later learn that it was more than just a bump on his eye.
“He has embrado rhabdomyosarcoma. Within six weeks, it had grown so much that his eye was completely closed and about an inch further down than his other eye lid,” said Sultan.
Tristen had stage on cancer causing him to move from Louisiana to St. Jude for his treatment.
“It’s rough. I had cancer when I was five. It’s not the same kind, but I think it helps him. It helps him to be able to deal with it better seeing how I’m fine,” said Sultan.
Tristen was the first to get something signed by Jason David Frank and he was able to pick whatever he wanted to get signed.
His autograph also came with a special message:
“I do a konji. It means karate do, the way of empty hands. It also can mean the way of life,” said Frank. “I wouldn’t have gotten Power Rangers if I didn’t believe in myself. I wouldn’t have gotten Power Rangers if I wasn’t persistent…Always say I can. You speak it in the universe…and then always I will…That is a TNT which means today not tomorrow.”
Jason David Frank will continue to visit comic-book stores all across the country.
