The live-action adaptation of Disney’s Peter Pan (currently titled Peter Pan and Wendy) is ramping up its casting. In recent weeks, announcements of Jude Law and Yara Shahidi’s casting as Captain Hook and Tinker Bell respectively made the rounds online. Now it appears that Disney has found their Tiger Lily as well.
The latest live-action remake set for a Disney+ release was originally to begin filming in April of this year, but those plans were ultimately delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Production is currently scheduled to be picked up in March of 2021.

The Illuminerdi can report that Disney is eyeing Alyssa Alook (full name Alyssa Wapanatâhk) to play the role. Alook is an newcomer to the industry, an indigenous actress whose body of work thus far consists of a few short films from the last two years. If finalized, her casting in Peter Pan and Wendy will mark her feature film debut.

The latest live-action update to the J.M. Barrie classic will be directed by David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon) with a script by Lowery and Toby Halbrooks. The movie stars the aforementioned Jude Law and Yara Shahidi, along with Alexander Molony as Peter Pan, and Ever Anderson as Wendy. The film is set to be released on Disney+.
