Sasha Banks talks about how she got the role in season two of The Mandalorian by eating hot chicken wings.
As we revealed back in February Banks landed a role on season two of the hit Disney+ series, The Mandalorian. To us wrestling fans Banks seemed like a no brainer for a Star Wars series. She is notorious for being nerdy and geeky with her love for anime and K-Pop. A move over to the Star Wars universe made perfect sense.

However, one thing we didn’t know was how she caught the attention of the people behind The Mandalorian. Recently Sasha Banks was a guest on the New Day’s podcast, The New Day: Feel the Power. Banks explained why she thought being on a YouTube show, Hot Ones, two years ago landed her the role.
“Sarath [Ton, Banks’ husband] just knows everything that is cool in the world and he got that for me,” Sasha Banks said about appearing on Hot Ones. “If I can give a little something cool, that’s how I got noticed for Star Wars. That’s a little secret.” H/T To Fightful For Transcription.
Hot Ones Is A Simple Concept Which Has Gotten Hot
Hot Ones is a show with a very simple concept. Host Sean Evans asks the guest questions while eating chicken wings. However, there is one twist to make this show different than eating while answering questions. The wings are hot wings and the sauce choice gets hotter as time goes on.
The heat seems to make the guest let their guard down. It humanizes the celebrity and humbles them. The viewer is able to feel their pain and relate to them as they sweat and squirm because of the hot sauce.
Big Name Celebrities Have Also Had Their Taste Buds Burned Off
The list of celebrities is the who’s who of everyone who is cool in Hollywood. Past guests include Charlize Theron, Billie Eilish, Charlie Day and the king of cool Guy Fieri. These are just a few of the big names who took the Hot Ones challenge.

However, Banks was not the first or last wrestler to be on the show. Past wrestlers including Chris Jericho, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Ronda Rousey all begged for mercy while eating the hot wings.
The Mandalorian Has A New Legit Boss In Town in Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks showed a fun and charismatic side of her personality while on the show. No doubt the show introduced many to Banks and some of those people happen to be behind The Mandalorian.
When asked about if the role in The Mandalorian has sunken in yet for Banks she admitted it hasn’t.
“It still has not hit me. It’s crazy. It’s frickin’ Star Wars, it’s insane. There’s not much I can talk about it yet, but I’m in it and I’m so thankful,” Banks said.
The new season of The Mandalorian will premiere on Oct. 30 on Disney+. Banks is tightlipped on what her role will be or who she may play. However, I think it is safe to say that her character will be a legit boss just like her.
