A surprise announcement came out of nowhere during the Game Awards. Microsoft and The Initiative Studios announced the return of a franchise lost in the shadows. Perfect Dark is finally making a comeback and is set to be released sometime in 2021.Â
For the younger readers that do not know about the game, the original Perfect Dark was a first person shooter released in 2000 on the Nintendo 64 by Rare. The game was a huge success and praised for its campaign, A.I., and multiplayer. A prequel came out in 2005 titled, Perfect Dark Zero, on the Xbox 360 as a launch title for the console. There will be online multiplayer thanks to Xbox Live, as well as keeping it’s split-screen multiplayer functionality.
