A brief teaser for Amazon’s upcoming sci-fi flick The Tomorrow War has landed online and it looks… vague.

From what we can tell, the premise involves time travel and Chris Pratt leading a military group against an invading alien force. It looks like a solid popcorn actioner that will fill the blockbuster void left by Top Gun: Maverick, which previously occupied The Tomorrow War’s July 2nd release date.  Check out the teaser below:

While the teaser gives us little to go on outside of Pratt, a voiceover, and some good-looking explosions, we also have an official synopsis to provide some much-needed context. Based on this, The Tomorrow War could be a great piece of escapism.

The Tomorrow War Official Synopsis

The Tomorrow War

In THE TOMORROW WAR, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.

Directing duties go to Chris McKay (who previously helmed The Lego Batman Movie) working with a script by Zach Dean.  The cast is full of genre mainstays including Pratt (Lead of the Jurassic World franchise), Yvonne Stahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale, Chuck),  J.K.
