AEW star, Jon Moxley, officially enters an alcohol treatment program.
AEW President, CEO, General Manager and Head Of Creative Tony Khan took to Twitter on Tuesday to make a series of tweets to announce Moxley formally known as Dean Ambrose in WWE is entering an inpatient treatment program to combat his drinking. Khan also pointed out he made the statement with Moxley’s permission.

“Jon Moxley has allowed me to share with you that he is entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program. Jon is a beloved member of the AEW family. We all stand with him and Renee [Moxley’s wife], and all of his family and friends, as he shifts his focus to recovery,” Khan said.
“Jon is making a very brave choice to get help, and we’re embracing his choice and supporting him however we can.”
“I’m proud to call Jon a friend, and like many of you, I’m also a fan of Mox and look forward to a time in the future when he is eventually ready to return to the ring. Until then, thank you for supporting Jon and respecting his privacy at this time.”

Moxley’s drinking problem was something which I was unaware of. Sometimes it is very apparent like Jimmy Uso’s DUI arrest and even worse they will wrestle under the influence like that video of Jeff Hardy vs Sting from TNA. As far as I am aware Moxley hasn’t let the drinking affect his in-ring performance. His gimmick is a bit of a loose cannon and a wild man in the best of ways, but maybe where the line between character and real life became blurred.
AEW Forced To Find A Way To Fill Jon Moxley’s Absence
Moxley was scheduled to wrestle Orange Cassidy on this week’s AEW Dynamite. He was supposed to wrestle as part of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. It was widely thought that Moxley would be winning the tournament or at least he would be facing Bryan Danielson in the finals at AEW Full Gear on Nov. 13. As of the writing of this we don’t know how AEW will handle his spot in the tournament.
Cassidy could automatically be getting the win or perhaps AEW could throw someone new to take Jon Moxley’s spot. If they do replace him I have my fingers crossed it’s someone cool like Bray Wyatt. Wouldn’t that be cool as a big debut for Wyatt or whatever he will be going by now. We also don’t know what plans AEW had for Moxley in his immediate future. It is very possible the plan was for Moxley to win the tournament and then defeat Kenny Omega for the AEW Championship. This obviously will change AEW’s plans regardless of what they were.

Moxley has become a big part of AEW and his absence will be felt by all of his fans and AEW fans in general.
Jon Moxley’s wife, Renee Paquette, took to Twitter to show her support of her husband and the father of their daughter.

Too many wrestlers don’t and get lost in addiction during their prime and we lose amazing wrestlers far too soon. We would also like to wish him luck during his treatment and we can’t wait to see him once he comes back healthy. Hopefully this will help others find the courage to seek treatment for their challenges whether they are wrestlers or just regular people.
