He’s The Boogeyman, and he’s still coming to getcha.
The WWE run of one Marty Wright, aka The Boogeyman, was relatively short in the grand scheme of things, but it was most certainly memorable with his bizarre and unique character. Over the years, Wright has continued to work with WWE and made appearances now and again for WWE. Based on a new tweet by Wright’s official Boogeyman Twitter account posted Monday (Feb. 7), it looks like WWE might have some new plans again for him in the future.

The Boogeyman tweeted out a new TikTok clip on Monday, showing that he received some type of new WWE contract with his real name written on it, “Marty Wright.” The clip then shows Wright putting pen to paper on the agreement. Meanwhile, the caption on the clip reads, “thank you #CEO/WWE VINCE MCMAHON.”
A Big Welcome Back To The Boogeyman
The nature and type of contract Boogeyman received from WWE is unknown. His last WWE in-ring appearance was at the 2015 WWE Royal Rumble event in the Rumble match, where he entered No. 7.
The Boogeyman initially debuted as a series of vignettes on SmackDown in 2005. He would eventually make his WWE in-ring debut at the 2006 Royal Rumble, beating JBL. His initial run in WWE ended in 2009 when he was released by WWE. The Boogeyman had been a part of the roster for the WWE-branded version of ECW at the time.

Over the course of his career, Marty Wright feuded with the likes of Finlay, The Miz and Booker T. The character wore strange face paint, hailed from “The Bottomless Pit,’ had a creepy strut and of course, he enjoyed eating live worms.
The Boogeyman has also continued to make appearances over the years in WWE’s supplemental and digital content for its social channels (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook) and WWE Network. In January 2018, he appeared at the Monday Night Raw 25th Anniversary show. Later in October of that year, he joined former WWE broadcaster Cathy Kelley on Talking Smack to make some gummy worms for Halloween.
