CinemaCon is well underway, and we have gotten our first sneak preview of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which will hit theatres next year.
Thanks to Gizmodo, who attended Sony’s panel at CinemaCon, there are some hot new details of the film that were never before seen. Though they are sure to be very interesting to those who are looking forward to it, be warned that this piece will contain spoilers for the movie. If you don’t want to know anything about it, you should definitely stop reading now.

Here are the most exciting details that the sneak peek of the film revealed. It’s worth noting that attendees saw the first fifteen minutes of the Spider-Man movie, which is being directed by Joaquim Dos Santos and Kemp Powers.
What’s In Store For Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse?
First off, the movies are no longer called Across the Spider-Verse: Part One and Part Two. “Part Two” will now be called Beyond the Spider-Verse, which could (keyword is “could”) hint at a boundary-pushing trip inside the multiverse, meaning that the film could go beyond animation and morph into live-action. Now, this is just pure speculation, but you never know what’s going to happen when you start talking about “verses.”
As for the footage itself, it revealed that Adrian Toomes/Vulture will be making an appearance in the movie, who took hostages inside a museum. Gwen Stacy’s dad, George Stacy, also appears. It’s unclear who is voicing Toomes, and what he looks like, but the article says that he speaks Italian, confusing the police because they don’t know what he wants.
Gwen and The Vulture have a fight together, and she realizes that he is from another universe. As Toomes is about to kill Gwen, he gets intercepted by Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099, teased in the last film’s post-credit scene. He will be voiced by Oscar Isaac, who isn’t an unfamiliar face in the Marvel Universe.
They both fight, and Vulture has the upper hand. But Miguel calls for help, and Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman enters the scene, voiced by Issa Rae. According to the article, Drew is five months pregnant in the film and they all fight together, until Vulture gets arrested. Spider-Gwen gets then arrested by her own father (!) for the murder of Peter Parker (which one?), unbeknownst to him that it’s his own daughter. He still reads her the Miranda Rights, until Miguel captures George in a force field, which allows Gwen, Jessica and 2099 to leave in another universe.
They arrive to Miles Morales’ world, and scenes of his school life are shown. His spider-sense tingles, and he leaves a meeting with his parents. Once again, according to the article, the footage ended there. So we don’t know much about what will happen afterwards, but it’s certainly exciting to know that Adrian Toomes will make his animated debut in a feature film (still unclear who is voiced for), and that an interesting spin on George Stacy’s relationship with Gwen fuels the main plotline of the movie, and unleashes yet another multiversal story for us to enjoy.
It’s been four years since the release of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, so it’s no wonder fans have been antsy to get the goods on what comes next. What do you think?
