The long-awaited sequel to Disney’s 2007 classic film, Enchanted, is almost here with the new movie, Disenchanted. The new movie arrives on Disney+ next month, but Walt Disney Studios finally dropped the brand-new, official trailer for the film, which is now online.
DISENCHANTED PRESENTS AN ‘ENCHANTED,’ NEW, AND MAGICAL TRAILER
The upcoming sequel is set 10 years after the events of the original. Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey reprise their respective roles as Giselle and Robert respectively. While Giselle and Robert are married, Giselle has become disillusioned with life in the city. So, the family moves to a small suburban community called Monroeville to find more of a fairy tale life.
However, suburban life is not all that Giselle had hoped for, as Giselle runs afoul of the local town queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph). After becoming frustrated, Giselle seeks the magic of Andalasia for help, and she accidentally turns the whole town into a magical fairy-tale world come to life, putting her home and her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle has to race against the clock to reverse the spell and find the true meaning of happily ever after.

The new trailer for Disenchanted also features the amazing Alan Tudyk, who voices the magical Andalasian scroll in the film. Also, Pip the chipmunk is back, and he’s amusingly transformed into a plump, evil cat. This time around, Pip is voiced by actor Griffin Newman (The Tick, Masters of the Universe: Revelation):
Disenchanted stars Adams, Dempsey, Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Gabriella Baldacchino, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden. Adam Shankman directs the film from a script by Brigitte Hales and a story by J. David Stem, David N. Weiss, and Richard LaGravenese. The film also features new songs by Disney Legend and Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, with lyrics by Oscar-winning lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Menken also composes the film’s score.
The streaming original comes out just a few weeks after the recent launch of the sequel, Hocus Pocus 2, on Disney+. According to Disney, the film had the biggest opening weekend ever for a film premiere on the streaming service. With the release of Disenchanted just a couple of short weeks away, it wouldn’t be surprising if this film achieves similar results as Disney is giving a hard push for its original streaming content.

Not to mention, next year will also see the debut of Doctor Who on Disney+, and the streaming service will be the official new home of The Doctor outside the UK. It appears interesting times are ahead for Disney+ as the service looks to branch out with non-Disney IP along with more familiar IP and sequels to beloved films such as Hocus Pocus and Enchanted.
Disney’s Disenchanted will stream exclusively on Disney+ starting Nov. 18. The digital soundtrack from Walt Disney records will also be available on the same date.
