Welcome To Lovecraft

Locke & Key has attracted a great deal of talent behind the scenes of the supernatural horror series. The show will be executive produced by Andy Muschietti (It: Chapter One & Two) and his producing partner Barbara Muschietti, Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Aron Eli Coleite (Daybreak). Deadline reports that Michael Morris (Better Call Saul) will direct the first two episodes of the series.

This isn’t the first attempt to bring the comic series to the big screen. An earlier attempt to produce a television series wasn’t picked up by Fox, although a pilot was filmed and screened at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con. Universal Pictures also attempted to turn it into a film trilogy, but those plans also fell apart. The third attempt attracted attention from Hulu, and when they decided against buying the series Netflix stepped in.

It looks like it was a good thing they did so, too. The trailer hints at a balance between other comic adaptations like the Umbrella Academy and the more straight forward horror series The Haunting on Hill House. It should be the perfect compliment for anyone who’s anxious to get more Stranger Things in their lives.

Locke & Key, starring Jackson Robert Scott, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Sherri Saum, Griffin Gluck, Darby Stanchfield, Laysla De Oliveria, Petrice Jones and Thomas Mitchell Barnet is set to premiere on Netflix on February 7th.
