The fate of Green Arrow and the Canaries appears to still be up in the air.
Arrow creator and longtime DCTV producer Marc Guggenheim continues to wait to find out more about the status of his next potential show, Green Arrow and The Canaries, despite the fact that its backdoor pilot episode was the 2nd highest rated episode of the final season of Arrow, behind the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover.
The spinoff Is set to follow daughter of Green Arrow, Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara), as she proceeds to follow in her father’s footsteps as the new Green Arrow. The show is set in the future Star City, in the year 2040, and co-stars Katie Cassidy as Earth-2’s Laurel Lance and Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake.

Guggenheim Updates Fans on Green Arrow and the Canaries
On Monday, Guggenheim answered a fan’s question on Twitter about the show and any news around it. The Executive Producer responded that he hopes to hear news in May, with a fingers crossed emoji at the end. The news doesn’t seem to be a definite Yes or No, so who knows what may happen.  Â
The reason Guggenheim mentioned May is because that is the time when The CW releases its upfronts about the upcoming fall order of shows. The news about the lineup has been pretty straightforward, as the network renewed all of their current shows and new Arrowverse show Superman & Lois was also given a series order.
While the wait is not necessarily a bad thing, the CW has new shows being prepared as well, such as a female-led Kung Fu reboot,  a Lost Boys pilot and a prequel project to The 100 in the works.
