A new report details that X-Men actor, Evan Peters, has covertly joined the cast of Marvel Studio’s WandaVision.
It’s been quite a while since any new casting news has come from Marvel Studios with numerous roles already filled and filming having been shut down for the last couple months. Phase 4 is already set to bring dozens of new faces into the already loaded Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The studio’s new venture into Disney+ is quite interesting in this regard with Kevin Feige revealing that these projects will be given the same level of detail and almost the same budget as is given to the films. The casting choices for these shows have lived up to that hype thus far bringing in big names like Owen Wilson, Wyatt Russell, Teyonnah Parris and more.
Evan Peters is the MCU’s Newest Mystery Man
Today brings news of a casting decision that is sure to shake things up for the MCU. Insider Charles Murphy has revealed on Murphy’s Multiverse that Evan Peters has been cast in an unknown role for the upcoming WandaVision mini-series on Disney+!
This news already has fans squealing and wondering what exactly Peters’ role will be in the new series, since it is still unknown who he will be playing. Amongst roles in other hit projects like American Horror Story and Kick-Ass, his most famous role came in Fox’s newest chapters of the X-Men franchise as Quicksilver. For those living under a rock, this is the same Quicksilver whose sister in the comics is Wanda Maximoff, the star of WandaVision in the MCU!

Don’t start going crazy yet though, as the likelihood of Peters reprising the role of Quicksilver in the MCU seems very unlikely at this point unless it’s as a new Quicksilver from another dimension. Charles Murphy is speculating that he could be one of the villains of the upcoming mini-series, but it’s also possible that nothing will be revealed for a while since the show is still pretty far from releasing. There’s also no confirmation of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver from the MCU returning, after his death in Avengers: Age of Ultron, although fans have been clamoring for this to happen ever since the series was announced.
Evan Peters joins an already star-studded cast including Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch), Paul Bethany (Vision), Teyonnah Parris (Monica Rambeau), Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis), Randall Park (Agent Jimmy Woo), and Kathryn Hahn. WandaVision is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in December 2020. What do you think of the potential casting? Who do you think Evan Peters is playing?
