King Corbin Reportedly Unhappy With New Plans For Upcoming Feud With Matt Riddle

King Corbin

King Corbin has gone through a litany of character changes since his main roster debut in 2016. From the Lone Wolf to the Constable of Monday Night Raw to the undisputed King of the Ring, Corbin has proved to be one of the most dependable performers at the WWE’s disposal. However, it seems like Corbin is unsettled given his most recent marching orders.

A few weeks ago, the Original Bro Matt Riddle made the move from NXT to Smackdown. Since then, the former UFC star is being positioned as one of the top tier babyfaces on the brand. However, in order to get there, Riddle needs a few wins over some big-name bad guys. King Corbin fits that description to a tee. However, a few sources close to the situation claim Corbin is less than enthusiastic about having to get Riddle over.

The rivalry has been teased since Riddle’s debut against WWE Intercontinental Champion. Last night, on Smackdown, Riddle joined Universal Champ Braun Strowman, Smackdown Tag Team Champions The New Day, and Jeff Hardy in paying tribute to The Undertaker. However, before that, the band of heroes took down the villainous King Corbin following a slew of insults thrown at Undertaker throughout the events of the evening.

This is set to lead towards a battle between Corbin and Riddle. However, according to a new report from Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda, King Corbin is not happy about what will probably wind up him taking the loss against Matt Riddle.

Moreover, Corbin reportedly “insisted” that Riddle should have to defeat five enhancement talents before getting the honor of beating the King of the Ring. Many fans have taken to social media to disparage the King. Although, history is sort of on the side of Corbin. Before a big talent is fed to the new up-and-comer, the rookie needs to prove himself worthy of the spot. We’ve seen this happen with the likes of Braun Strowman, Nia Jac, and Lars Sullivan in recent years.

Matt Riddle has more than proven himself as a top contender in NXT, He’s the former NXT Tag Team Champion and has competed in War Games. However, on Smackdown, the wrestler remains untested outside of a fluke victory over AJ Styles. As many WWE stars will claim, if Vince McMahon wants something done, that gets done.

All this to say, despite Corbin’s hesitancy, expect him to tap out or be pinned by Matt Riddle in the coming weeks as the Original Bro receives the push the creative team hopes to give him.

What do you think? Does King Corbin have a right to be upset about having to job to the newcomer? Is there someone else you would like to see Riddle feud with? Clothesline those comments below.
