Jon Hamm is going to be playing investigative reporter I.M. Fletcher, who was previously portrayed by Chevy Chase in the 1980s comedy, in the upcoming Fletch reboot.
The 1980s movie is based on the book series by Gregory McDonald, with the same name. A remake/re-imagining of the 1980s original was planned for quite a while and now Jon Hamm teamed up with Miramax to star in and produce a remake.

The film is going to be directed by Greg Mottola, who is known for comedies like Superbad and Arrested Development.

The movie is going to be based on the second book in the series, called Confess, Fletch.
Hamm’s Fletcher character will find himself in the middle of multiple murders, one of which has him as a prime suspect. While attempting to prove his innocence, Fletch must find his fiancée’s stolen art collection, an inheritance she has acquired after her father goes missing and is presumed dead.
