G4 Teases Surprise Return in Ambiguous Video

Many would remember the G4 Network from the days of old. Legendary shows such as X-Play, Attack of the Show, and more captured the hearts of many, and became one of most popular gaming-based shows before the rise of Youtube. The network became the springboard for many industry alumni, such as Geoff Keighley, to start their careers in. Unfortunately in 2014 however, the G4 Network ceased broadcasting. However, there may now be hope.

A New Hope for G4

Recently, the G4 Twitter account reemerged and posted a single video with the caption, “We never stopped playing.”

The video itself depicts a warehouse, featuring nods to many of the G4 Networks’ iconic running gags and moments. Whilst this is occurring, a game of Pong can be heard in the background, symbolic of both the Network’s own birth, as well as the birth of gaming as a whole. The game suddenly is interrupted by static, and the networks logo. Following that is a date of 2021, and the aforementioned tagline.

No further official information has been given at this point. Whether or not the network will return to its original capacity as a broadcasting network is unknown. Other possibilities could include a reinvigorated online platform, such as Youtube or Twitch, or something completely new that no one is expecting.

Adam Sessler, one of the ex-hosts of X-Play, one of the network’s most notorious shows, retweeted the video. In a comment he mysteriously added, “Well, this is a curious turn of events.” Whether this means he and other fellow hosts from the network will be returning is still unclear.

If you follow the link on the official account’s Twitter page to the official website, it loads a humorous wall of text that soon loads into a game of Pong that you can play. It’s clear that the G4 team are readying for a new push with their fans, and its definitely exciting!
