Lita is, in every sense, a pioneer in the world of professional wrestling. During an era when females were relegated to bra and panties matches and sleazy romances, Lita created a style of combat that made her stand out on her way to becoming a four-time WWE Women’s Champion. However, a slew of serious injuries to her neck and spine hindered the longevity of her in-ring career and she made the choice to step away from the full-time schedule in 2006.
Since then, Lita has gotten physical inside the squared circle. From competing in the very first Women’s Royal Rumble Match, to teaming with fellow Hall of Famer Trish Stratus during the first all-female WWE Network event, to hitting Heath Slater with a moonsault, the multitalented performer has proven she still has what it takes to compete at a high level.

Recently, Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley called Lita and Trish Stratus out on social media.
LITA IS READY TO COME BACK
In response, Lita was asked whether or not a return to the ring is realistic in the near future, during a conversation with Smackdown commentator Corey Graves on his After The Bell podcast. Lita admits that she is very much interested in the idea of one more big return to WWE.
“I’m down. Like, I can’t say that if I was never in the ring again then something was missing for me, but I think that it would be a fun opportunity and like, a good short-term goal and something to add to the resume. But you guys don’t need me,” she said. “Like, everybody’s doing awesome there so I can just get by watching how awesome everyone is doing. If the stars aligned I could be down.”
Now more than ever, women’s wrestling is taking the lead in organizations all over the world. Performers like Bayley, Sasha Banks, Asuka, and Io Shirai rule the world of professional wrestling and constantly deliver some of the best performances on any given night. The idea of Lita possibly mixing it up with any of the names listed above is exciting for any wrestling fan.

However, it must be noted that a return for Lita is far from confirmed. Last year’s Summerslam event featured a stellar match between Charlotte Flair and Trish Stratus. While proving her place on the greatest of all-time list, Trish Stratus seemingly ended her in-ring career on an incredibly high note. If Lita were to have a similar story and match, fans would be eager to offer ideas on who should have the honor of sharing the ring with her.
