Former AEW and IMPACT Wrestling star Kylie Rae has formally announced her retirement from pro wrestling.

Rae was set to wrestle for the Knockouts Championship at IMPACT Wrestling: Bound For Glory on Oct. 24. However, she was replaced last minute by Su Yung. It wasn’t known why this last minute change had occurred or if it was kayfabe or real.

On Kylie Rae’s Patreon she gave the announcement of her abrupt retirement at 28 years of age.

“Good morning,

I’m truly sorry for the pain I’ve caused and miscommunication, I am currently unwell.

I’m also sorry that I wasn’t able to get this out before your monthly subscription charge.

I wanted to take this time to say I am no longer a professional wrestler and am currently taking a break from social media. It’s been a very hard decision to make but please understand.

When I am well, I will try to fulfill any obligations that have missed.

During this time, most tiers will not be able to be fulfilled, please feel free to unsubscribe from this membership/PatreonAccount.

Thank you for your understanding. <3,”

That Was An Ambiguous And Concerning Post

A message like this is very concerning and has everyone questioning her mental wellbeing. It’s hard not to be reminded of Hana Kimura who unfortunately took her own life due to cyberbullying.

I am not very familiar with Kylie Rae, but after looking up her name on Twitter she seems very beloved. Fans and wrestlers have shared their thoughts and well wishes to Rae. The only negative things I saw was that they won’t be able to see her wrestle more.

Kylie Rae: A Short Career Full Of Big Matches

Kylie Rae had a very short career in wrestling. She started her career in 2016 wrestling for Booker T’s promotion Reality of Wrestling. In 2019 she began wrestling for AEW, but only wrestled for them for a few months. In October of that year she debuted in IMPACT Wrestling.

She was only in wrestling for a short four years and had some matches with some big names. Some of those names include Tessa Blanchard, Jordynne Grace, Britt Baker, Awesome Kong and Taya Valkyrie among others.

Her last match in wrestling was on the Oct. 13 episode of IMPACT where she got a victory over Kimber Lee.

At only four years in the business it is unlikely that her body is starting to break down.  Judging by her message it seems like she has mental health or personal problems that need to be dealt with.  However, the wrestling business is a hard life and it isn’t for everyone.

We here at The Illuminerdi would like to extend our best wishes to Rae. I hope Rae finds happiness and gets help if she needs it. She seems to be quite beloved and her fans love her. I think Rae’s fans will be there for her if she decides to return.

What is your favorite Kylie Rae memory? Is there a wrestler you’d like to see Rae wrestle if she decides to return?  Leave some well wishes for Kylie Rae in the comments below because maybe she’ll see it or leave some positive thoughts over on Twitter.
