The next team of Super Sentai has arrived, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, and it’s time to learn more.
Super Sentai, the basis for Power Rangers in the US, will premiere its 45th team of heroes. The show, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger will make its way to TV screens in Japan on March 7, 2021. The show revealed the new team to fans last week and got buzz building based on the new designs of the suits featured in the anniversary season.

Super Sentai has been running since 1975, when Himitsu Sentai GoRanger premiered. TV Asahi, the network which has aired the many Super Sentai shows for so long, has released the details surrounding the plot of Zenkaiger and The Illuminerdi is here to share them with you. Let’s get morphin’!
What’s Kaikai Sentai Zenkaiger About?
Sentai Zenkaiger will star a human hero working with four “Robo” heroes. The story introduces an evil Devil hand, who is trying to erase all the parallel worlds.
The series is turning the tables by having one human and four robots in the spotlight, compared to the many Super Sentai seasons with three to five humans on the sentai team. One of the earlier seasons, however, JAKQ did have a team of cyborgs as four members. With this, Sentai Zenkaiger has fans going down memory lane – along with the design of leader, Zenkaiser. His outfit is based on the motif of Red Rangers that have come before him. His teammates’ design is also an inspiration to seasons prior.
The Four robo heroes will be based off four megazords from previous Sentai seasons. Zenkai Julan’s design is based off Zyuranger and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Dino Megazord. The next up is Zenkai Gaon, which takes its design from Gaoranger (Wild Force), Zenkai Majinu will honor MagiRanger (Mystic Force), and Zen Archive Rune takes its design from Boukenger (Operation Overdrive.
This season will bring the robots we see super sentai use against evil into the spotlight. Fans of the sentai and adaptation will know that when the monster grows it is time to summon the zords, well with Zenkaiger when the monster grows so will the robo heroes and will fight in normal size as well so no hiding places for these mechas.
One of the hot items in Zenkaiger will be obtaining the “Gear Trigger”, which are items crucial for transformations and ground battle and giant battles as well. Sentai gear which combine with Gear Triggers will harness the power of super sentai. based off the description like the 35th sentai, Gokaiger, a key part of the season will be collecting these items.
The release schedule of Sentai Zenkaiger looks to be in a trilogy of Super Sentai movies that will be aired in Japan. The trilogy will have the current sentai, Kiramiger, and the previous sentai, Ryusoulger – which is the adaptation being used for 2021’s Power Rangers Dino Fury and the movie Super Sentai Movie Ranger 2021. Announcements about production, cast actors and voice actors are set to happen on January 15th, 2021.
