A new power-up mode has been teased to appear in Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger.

Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger is the 45th anniversary series that combines the mechanical theme with representation of past Super Sentai teams, with the robo and mecha seen in each show. A new preview release shows the new gear, special armor, and even a new Zord.

The new ZenKaiju gear and power-ups are designed with the influence of Dragon Ceaser from Zyuranger and V-Rex from Timeranger. Both Zenkaiser and Twokaiser are the ones that use this new gear, which grants them two different power-ups based on who uses it. The gear is compatible with both Changers that both these characters use.

Super Zenkaizer gains a full body armour that is designed based on Dragon Ceaser. Fans may know the mecha from the Power Ranger Adaptation as the Dragon Zord. With this new armour, Zenkaizer gains a drill-based lance that is designed to match the tail seen on the Zord. Like the others in his team, Zenkaizer can grow in this form. The only issue fans may have with this power-up is that Zyuranger is already being represented by Zenkai Zyuran. However, due to this being a fan favorite from the show, fans will still be glad that this Zord is featured in Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger.

One thing about this Dragon Ceaser form is that it could remind fans of the Dragon armour Yellow Ranger in the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger comics. Although it is unlikely, it would be curious if that Shattered Grid addition influenced the creation of the Zenkaizer power-up.

Super Twokaizer gains body armour based on V-Rex and is like the armour received when he uses Cuttaner and Rikki for the Shinkenger and Ohranger power-ups. Fans may know of V-Rex due to his counterpart in Power Rangers Time Force, where he is known as The Quantasaurus Rex. It still unclear what abilities or attacks Twokaizer will have in this form, however, he is able to change in to a ‘Super-Deformed Form’ like his brothers. The part that is out of design is the number on his head as instead of changing to the number ‘24’ for Timeranger, it still shows ‘35’, which still represents Gokaiger, the 35th season.

What is amazing is that both the super-sized Zenkaizer, in his dragon armour form, and Twokaizer, in his ‘SD form’, can combine. This allows both to become ZenKaijuOh, the Zenkaiger version of V-Rex, since the ‘SD Form’ makes the head of the Zord. ZenKaijuOh has two cannons like his Timeranger counterpart, so its likely that is his main weapon.

It is an amazing addition to the Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger anniversary season, but it has yet to be confirmed when it will make its debut. It is quite ironic as both zords were once represented in Gokaiger, as the 6th Ranger had a Zord that represented both these seasons, plus Abaranger for its Dino theme. As brilliant as the concept is, it is a shame that other shows have yet to get representation instead. However, this is something that fans will surely admit they wanted as soon as they saw this new addition.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
