Goldberg confirms he is down to his last two matches on his contract.

This Saturday Goldberg will face Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam. In 2020 Goldberg stated he has a contract which allows him to wrestle two matches a year. He faced Drew McIntyre in January therefore this is the second and final match of the year for him. After that he will have one more year and two more matches on his contract.

Just Two More Matches

Goldberg was a guest on The Bump to answer if he was Team Reigns or Team Cena for their SummerSlam match. He didn’t answer or understand the question exactly and started talking about how he would love to face either one in the ring. He apparently doesn’t think they have ever faced someone like him and don’t have what it takes to defeat him. Which is absurd, seeing how both have faced Undertaker and beaten him, which Goldberg hasn’t and Reigns even beat Undertaker at WrestleMania.

During the interview he confirmed he is down to two more matches on his current deal.

“I’m team neither one of them,” Goldberg said . “Neither one has stared across the ring and seen me as an opponent, so I look at both of them the same.  They’re just victims, future victims.  I’m a big fan of both of them for what they’ve done individually, for what Roman’s been able to do for the past couple of years is freakin’ unbelievable.  I think it’s fantastic. I think Paul Heyman has a lot to do with that. I’d love a piece of Roman Reigns and I think maybe even more so I’d love to get my hands around Cena’s throat. But that’s wishful thinking.

We’ll see. Let me take care of Bobby Lashley first and hey, I only got one more match, or two more matches on my deal here so we’ll see what happens.”

I Hope Goldberg Doesn’t Hurt Himself Again Or Lashley

Goldberg is basically calling out both Superstars so we may see him face one or both of them next year. However, first he has to get through Lashley and survive. I don’t mean this in kayfabe, I mean survive.

Goldberg has a history of slamming his head into the ring post and knocking himself out or just hurting himself in general.  It is very likely that the match will be a disaster and no doubt it will be the worst match of the night, but at least it’ll be short.

However, the good news is we only have to endure two more Goldberg matches after Saturday.  That is if he doesn’t sign another contract with WWE.  I hope he doesn’t so WWE doesn’t have to release another Superstar just to afford Goldberg.

Who do you think should be Goldberg’s last two opponents? Do you want Goldberg to sign another WWE contract? Would you like to see him in AEW? Hit those keys with a spear and then jackhammer a comment below or join the daily smackdown over on our social media!
