Blade is a pretty interesting character in the MCU. He’s a vampire hunter in the comics, that joins forces with the Midnight Sons from time to time. He’s teamed up with the Black Knight, as well as Moon Knight himself. In the second post-credit scene of Eternals, Dane Whitman was shown to be lifting the Ebony Blade, when Mahershala Ali himself makes a voice-over, hinting at his upcoming film, and a possible appearance in Moon Knight. Who knows where he could appear next?

Blade was never expected to be announced at Comic-Con 2019. Every project had been announced, the cast and crew had all come out for the group photo, and then Kevin Feige started speaking again. He announced the film that would be titled Blade, and then announced the headlining actor, Mahershala Ali, to thunderous applause. He came out with the hat featuring the title character, and then greeted his fellow Phase 4 stars. Fans have been waiting for this film for 2 and a half years now, but it’s going to be another 2 and a half.
Blade Production Meeting Screenshots On Zoom Show Cast And Crew Hard At Work
In a new pair of Instagram stories and posts from Blade writer Stacy Osei-Kuffour, production meetings for the movie are showcased in photos from the Zoom meetings. In one photo, director Bassam Tariq, writer Stacy Osei-Kuffour, producer Kevin Feige, producer Louis D’Esposito, and more are shown. In the second photo, the director, writer, and 2 other individuals are showcased, as well as Blade himself, Mahershala Ali. The full photos can be seen below:
It’s early days, but Blade‘s production is looking to be going smoothly, and if all goes well, we could potentially see the film as soon as Late 2023, but more likely Early 2024. However, it’s important to note that these photos may have not been taken recently. In one photo, Feige is shown wearing a Shang-Chi hat, so this meeting could’ve possibly been done in August or September, when Feige was doing publicity for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Or, he could just be wearing the hat because he likes the movie.
