Donbrothers Press Conference Finally Reveals Cast And Characters

The Avataro Sentai Donbrothers press conference reveals new cast and character details.
Donbrothers

The cast and characters have fully been revealed for Avataro Sentai Donbrothers. Toei had recently held a press conference that revealed all cast members of the new Super Sentai show. The trailer released for the show has also given fans a first look at the team and villains in action.

Avataro Sentai Donbrothers is the 46th Sentai in the Super Sentai series, which will be a direct sequel to Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger. Like the series before it, the show will feature the use of Sentai Gears that represent past Sentai teams and has a theme based on the Japanese Folklore, Momotaro. The team is formed of 5 members based on the characters of the tale, with two Zenkaiger members crossing over to the new season.

What is interesting is that Donbrothers isn’t the first sequel series featured in Super Sentai. In 1981, Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan was the 5th Super Sentai series released and is actually an immediate sequel of Denshi Sentai Denziman. Most fans aren’t aware of this in the west as many Sentai shows before Jetman have no official method of viewing.

As a result of the recent Donbrothers press conference, we now know that all 5 Rangers will be humans, unlike Zenkaiger that had the main team comprised of only one live-action character. Here are the cast and characters of Donbrothers.

The Rangers of Donbrothers include 5 Rangers that are based on Momotaro characters, with 2 having a CGI Ranger form.

In order from left to right, the Rangers, their character names, and actors playing them are the following.

  • Don Momotaro, Red Ranger – Taro Momoi – Played by Kouhei Higuchi
  • Oni Sister, Yellow Ranger – Haruka Kitou – Played by Kohaku Shida
  • Saru Brother, Blue Ranger – Shinichi Saruhara – Played by Yuji Beppu
  • Inu Brother, Black CGI Ranger – Tsubasa Inuzuka – Played by Toutaro
  • Kiji Brother, Pink CGI Ranger – Tsuyoshi Kijino – Played by Hirofumi Suziki

The Rangers being all live-action characters was surprising to discover and for many will be exactly what fans desire after Zenkaiger. The first male Pink Ranger is one of the biggest highlights in this series, which fans have realized they would love to see in Power Rangers. The names of the characters all seem to feature a name that is derived from their motif. There is a great amount of diversity in ages and backgrounds, which can be seen in their bios below.

Taro Momoi is a 21-year-old young man who has the amazing ability to never lie. He came to the human world in a peach-like capsule as a baby and was raised by Jin Momoi. Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
